What is Ancient Greece?
Ancient Greece was an ancient civilization that existed on the Balkan Peninsula in Eastern Europe lasting from 800 BC and separated around 150 BC after the Romans invaded. Greek maintained a thriving economy from maritime trading and farming due to their close proximity near other nations and other city states. Aside from economic reasons, their geographic features provided a tactical advantage against foreign invaders. The fact that 80% of the country is mountainous provides a huge tactical advantage to the Greek armies. On the other hand, the mountains caused trading between the city state's difficult and farming more difficult.Religious and cultural differences caused city states to erupt into wars. Some city states encountered conflicts between one another. However, these city states would create the basis of what some people to consider the greatest theater/arts in history. There theaters was world renowned and was dominated for having 3 types of plays’ tragedy, comedy and satryl. Greeks engineering is perhaps one of the world's most renowned creating domes and theaters the size of modern day theaters minus the mechanical advantages. Ancient Greece was perhaps of the most influential and world renowned ancient civilizations in the BC era.
