Gender roles:
Women and men in Ancient Coro were thought of as differently. The two genders were also separated into different social classes. Men were thought of as superior to women and had more opportunities and rights. Men could be farmers, soldiers, involved in trade, or a part of any business they’d like. These businesses could be private or public and they could be part of government as well. Women, on the other hand, were expected to do housework and care for the children at home. They could not take part in government and were not considered citizens. However, like Athens, women were not completely looked down on. For example, women, like men, could take part in trade and could participate in most public businesses, but not private businesses. Women and men received equal education and could both have one year of military training, however only men could serve in the army after the year of training. While there are obvious differences in gender roles, people are treated equally in some ways.
Citizenship:
To be a citizen of Coro you have to meet two requirements. You have to be 16 and have been born in Coro.
